After 30 days of travelling through ice, storms and polar bears our photographer Luca Bracali has had to cut short his expedition, “Arctic Sun on My Path”. Because of global warming , instead of ice upon which it would have been able to travel, the expedition was faced with a road of freezing water.

During the evening of the 4th December, at the opening of the "Tibet Land of Exile" exhibition which will be held at Palazzo Litta in Milan, there will be the presentation of the book entitled "Tibet Land of Exile" pubblished by Skira and the result of seven years of work by the photographer Patricio Estay.

Our photographer Carmit Hassine has won the 20th International Festival of Scoop and Journalism for the section "Young Reporter". Her feature "The Military Girls", it has been defined as a "romantic and poetics inquiry". By this feature Carmit Hassine explores the universe of the Israeli girls who spend two years in the army. Carmit, who did the same experience a few years ago, tells the life of this girls from a personal point of view, made by a special sensitivity and a deep aesthetic feeling. Alessandro Tommasi

A great exhibition to celebrate one of the most famous, and controversial, photographers of the history. "Robert Mapplethorpe tra antico e moderno. Un'antologia" outlines the different periods in the Mapplethorpe's work, showing all his sensual and provocative idea of photography. Mapplethorpe, became famous in the '70s, is now considered an artist "tout court", and not just a photographer. The Torinese exhibition, organized by Promotrice delle Belle Arti, is an excursus around all the Mapplethorpe's work, from the famous nudes to the portraits. Looking at certain contemporary photography trend, made by provocation and explitics sexual references, certainly we may think of Mapplethorpe as a precursory with a inimitable, and refined, artistic touch.

"With this project about the asiatic communities in Paris, the photographer Carlos Lujan goes on in his research on the cultural diversities in the metropoly. This exibition is an evocative document on Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laotian cultures and religions in the day by day of the city. The integration of this people in the dynamic west societies is an urgent issue today. This work in progress by Lujan underlines also the controversial dilemma about the preservation the most ancient roots and tradition of this communities, throwing out a message: there is no future without mutual tolerance and comprehension"

"Le mythe est une construction imaginaire, une étoile inaccessible et belle, pleine de magie, de mystère et de rêve.
Mais la force du mythe est l’oubli et le mensonge. La couture fait oublier que nos vêtements quotidiens sont produits en série ; la mode oublie que sa nouveauté recycle les mêmes artifices depuis toujours ; le défilé oublie l’envers du décor ; les flashes ignorent le travail de l’ombre.
Prises hors scène, les images de FICO ne devraient-elles pas démystifier la mode ?
Il n’en est rien. L’envers du décor renouvelle la magie, la lumière et l’éclat.
Peut-être parce que c’est la mode… Sans doute parce que ces photographies sont d’authentiques œuvres."

Exceptional auction of 300 pictures for 3P : Photographers for a Photography Project The Association 3P has come to auction a selection of prints taken by some of the world's greatest photographers. The Association 3P aims to help another photographer carry out an important project through financial support over a period of six months to one year.
